Terms of Service

Last updated: October 1, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Jacob Frost (“Solvent”, “we”, “us”) about your use of the Solvent puzzle website at solventgames.com and the Solvent Plus subscription. By creating an account or using Solvent, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Solvent.

1. Who can use Solvent

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you’re under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent’s or guardian’s permission, and they agree to these terms for you. Only an adult can buy Solvent Plus, or a minor with a parent’s or guardian’s permission.

2. Your account

3. Playing fairly

Leaderboards are meant to be fun and fair. You agree not to:

Your display name, friend code and daily results are shown to other players on leaderboards. We may remove results, reset scores, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Ads. The free version of Solvent shows ads. Solvent Plus members don’t see ads.

4. Solvent Plus

What it is. Solvent Plus is an optional paid subscription that removes ads and adds features such as unlimited practice puzzles, the puzzle archive, difficulty levels, a monthly streak freeze and detailed stats. The daily puzzles stay free. We may add, change or remove Plus features over time, but we won’t take away the core of what you’ve paid for during a billing period you’ve already paid for.

Price and billing. Solvent Plus costs $4.99 per month or $32.99 per year (US dollars), plus any taxes that apply, unless a different price is shown when you subscribe. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and we charge your payment method at the then-current price until you cancel.

Free trial. First-time subscribers may get a 3-day free trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts and you’re charged for the plan you chose on the day the trial ends. Free trials are limited to one per person.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time on the Plus page (Cancel subscription). When you cancel, you keep Plus until the end of the period you’ve already paid for (or the end of your trial), and you won’t be charged again.

Refunds. Payments are non-refundable, and we don’t give refunds or credits for partly used billing periods, except where the law requires it. If you think you’ve been charged by mistake, contact us and we’ll look into it.

Price changes. If we change the price of Solvent Plus, we’ll tell you in advance, and the new price will apply from your next billing period. If you don’t want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.

Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we may pause or end your Plus access until your payment details are updated.

5. Our content

The puzzles, clues, riddles, word lists, designs, logos, and all other content and software on Solvent belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use Solvent for your own enjoyment. You may share screenshots of your results, but you may not copy, sell or republish our puzzles, or build a competing product from them, without our written permission.

6. Changes and availability

We’re always improving Solvent, so games and features may change. We try to keep Solvent running smoothly, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. We may suspend or stop parts of the service. If we ever shut down Solvent Plus, we’ll give you notice and a prorated refund for any time you’ve paid for but can’t use.

7. Ending your account

You can stop using Solvent at any time, and ask us to delete your account by contacting us. Cancel Solvent Plus first to stop future charges. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, or if we need to for legal reasons.

8. Disclaimers

Solvent is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we don’t make promises about the service beyond what’s written in these terms, including implied promises of fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we aren’t responsible for indirect, incidental or consequential losses (such as lost streaks, scores or data), and our total responsibility to you for any claim relating to Solvent is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that can’t be limited under the law where you live.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you live in a country that gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts or under your local consumer laws, nothing here takes that away.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We’ll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know on the site or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Solvent after the changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.
